Now To Louisa

Now To Louisa Review

Set in the 1950’s, Now to Louisa is the coming of age story of a vibrant young woman fighting against the outdated culture of women as chattel. Having sacrificed her dreams of higher education when her mother fell ill, at her father's heartbroken request, Louisa remained home after her death. At her father’s death, and his attempts to perpetuate his will from beyond the grave through his sons, Louisa decides to break free of her bonds of oppression. Louisa's courageous bid for her own freedom and her generosity of spirit as she inspires women around her is a timeless tale of every young woman feeling the inequities of unliberated culture and the impact she can have in breaking free.
